The Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs was in the Halloween spirit Tuesday allowing patients to become a part of the construction team in the building of the new facility.

The staff at the hospital dressed in costume and threw a parade for the children who will be spending the night, not out trick-or-treating but instead at the hospital. About 100 children who are now hospitalized participated.

The kids trick-or-treated through various hospital departments to have a bag of candy just like the other kids out getting goodies. "We bring Halloween to them by partnering with some of our internal groups and some of our community groups as well", said Executive Director, Heather Newsome, Willett Children's Hospital.

"It's a really impactful event that they appreciate". "They feel so good about making this such a special day for them too".

Firefighters were paired with a patient so they could have a special escort as they went through the trick-or-treat route.

All bringing Halloween to kids who can't get out for one.
