Daylight Saving Time 2017: When do we set the clocks back?

"I'm used to the Daylight Saving time, I like it for my work shifts", said a man.

Most notably, a majority of other Northeast states would have to act in concert to adopt the same new time zone, the commission concluded.

"It's a waste of time", said another resident.

Moving to Atlantic time means we wouldn't lose that hour of daylight in the winter like we do when we fall back.

Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands observe Atlantic time, as does Nova Scotia and part of Quebec. Seventeen U.S. states are in the Eastern Time Zone.

Some people enjoy the twice-yearly ritual of tinkering with time, feeling that "springing forward" or "falling back" helps to usher in a more seasonal atmosphere.

The time adjustment will allow the sun to rise just before 7 a.m. and to set before 5 p.m.

So.if you are like me, you never got over losing an hour of sleep last March when we "sprung forward" setting our clocks an hour ahead for Daylight saving time. For many years, most of IN did not observe Daylight Saving Time with the exception of 10 counties. It said that MA should not act alone and should make the move only in coordination with other states in the region.

"That would be foolish, and some would say insane", he said.

MT State Senator Ryan Osmundson (R-Buffalo) introduced a bill in the state Legislature earlier this year to exempt Montana from the time-change, the bill died in committee.

"If we don't have NY, this is a no-go", said Republican state Rep. Paul Frost, who had been the panel's most skeptical member throughout its public meetings and the only one to vote against the final report.
