Although the Catalan giants had failed to land their top target during the summer transfer window, the Blaugrana hadn't given up on the Brazilian midfielder and now look very close to completing Coutinho's signing.

Barcelona have reportedly upset Liverpool by offering Andre Gomes as part of a swap deal that would see Philippe Coutinho head the opposite way.

Barça agree to pay £120 million (about $158,280,000) for the 25-year-old player.

Barcelona are still said to be interested in signing Coutinho, but PSG have also been linked, with Neymar believed to be trying to convince his global teammate to move to Paris.

Liverpool were insistent that Coutinho was not for sale. '(He) has asked his representatives to ignore any offer that comes to them.

But the Spanish newspaper claim Coutinho has asked Liverpool not to sell him to PSG.

Furthermore, Sport claims Coutinho's relationship with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains untarnished, despite his ongoing wish to leave.

Barca were rebuffed several times in their attempts to sign Coutinho, following the loss of Neymar to PSG, but haven't given up hope, especially considering the player's willingness to move to the Camp Nou.
