IPhone X 'notch remover' now available in App Store

Ever since the iPhone X was first revealed, the now-famous "notch" at the top of the display has become the topic of much debate. In other words, the notch is still technically there, but you don't have to deal with looking at it anymore.

"The iPhone X has a 5.8" display that stretches from edge to edge. In essence, this app doesn't actually remove the notch, rather, it simply makes it invisible by placing a dark bar across images. If you belong to the latter group of people, you can do something about it thanks to a new app that's now available on the App Store.

It is worth pointing out that the app isn't following Apple's design guidelines but surprisingly it was approved on the AppStore. This comes as a surprise given that the company has been urging iOS developers not to mask the notch and instead embrace it as a key display feature. So basically the app will place a black bar at the top of your wallpaper to hide the notch on the handset. Don't use visual adornments like brackets, bezels, shapes, or instructional text to call special attention to these areas, either.

The app will cost you 0.99 United States dollars but is just a small price to pay if those of you that came to a conclusion that the notch is not something you can deal with. So what's another $0.99 for a silly little app that fixes a silly little problem?
