National Chairman: PDP Promises To Support Winner

The meeting which started about 7 pm was held for five hours behind closed doors.

Fayose noted that the party is working with all the chairmanship aspirants of the party for the rejuvenation of the PDP, saying, "Today, we met in Enugu State Government House to deliberate on our forthcoming National Convention".

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said it will not stop any aspirant from contesting for the position of it chairman of the party based on pending cases of corruption.

According to him, they are optimistic that PDP would reclaim its mandate as well as winnng the November 18 Anambra State Governorship poll. He appealed for free, fair and credible elections.

"Nigeria is of age to do elections that would be acceptable internationally ".

Others were Emmanuel Udom, Akwa-Ibom; Ben Ayade, Cross River; ifeanyi Okowa, Delta; Seriake Dickson, Bayelsa; Nyesom Wike, River, while Ebonyi was represented by the deputy governor.

They are: Bode George, Jimi Agbaje, Taoheed Adedoja, Tunde Adeniran, Rasheed Ladoja, Gbenga Daniel, Raymond Dokpesi and Uche Secondus.

Addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting which also had in attendance notable party leaders and seven out of the eight chairmanship aspirants, Governor Fayose said the atmosphere and team spirit that manifested in the meeting demonstrated the party's resolve to take over power by 2019.

The others were Kema Chikwe, former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, Tom Ikimi, and Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.
