The next wave of Call of Duty WW2 updates will attempt to fix online connectivity. Apparently, the first update solved a few problems in terms of online connectivity, but killed server performance.

However, the good news is that developers are going to go back dedicated servers soon.

Activision, seeing a trend in fans for a return to the franchise's roots, asked Sledgehammer, one of the three studios working on the Call of Duty series, to tackle WWII, having faith that Sledgehammer would give the game authenticity and sufficient scale. Overall, the game is stable, however we know that P2P brings things like Host Migrations and other issues that make for inconsistent gameplay experiences. Developers Sledgehammer have posted and update regarding current problems, and you can read it below.

Sledgehammer's Michael Condrey has revealed that Double XP was active on CoD: WWII since its launch on the 3rd of November.

Despite these issues, Gfk Chart-Track - who track the UK's physical videogame sales - say Call of Duty: WWII is on course for the strongest second week of sales in the last two years. Players can still invite friends, which we encourage everyone to try.

Dedicated servers, meanwhile, are being tested in the USA ahead of a full roll out. This level of data and diagnostics is helping us work toward a permanent solution as quickly as possible.

Dedicated servers will be tested in the U.S. today.

"Our highest priority is to deliver the best online experience possible". We'll watch this test closely, and once we analyze the results we'll look to expand.

On Activision's support site, it lists the PS4 version as having an "outage" with the message, "We're now experiencing connectivity issues". We won't rest until we resolve everything we can for the community. So hang in there while we address the most pressing concerns first.

As technical foulups go, there's one more that has been received more positively. On the other hand, the game did double last year's in sales so there's more activity to service.
