Chinese handset manufacturer Xiaomi on Monday announced a permanent Rs 1,000 price cut on its best-selling phone- the Redmi Note 4 in India. Now, the smartphone seems to have received a limited period price cut of Rs. 1,000.

Flipkart is offering additional discounts on the smartphones.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is now available starting at Rs. 9,999 for both the 2GB as well as 3GB versions, while the 4GB version costs Rs. 11,999. The 3GB RAM version was until now priced at Rs 10,999 while the 4GB RAM version was priced at Rs 12,999. It is best to get the 4GB RAM version as it comes with 64GB storage on board. The older generation Redmi Note 3 will get around Rs 3,050 off on the final price, which means you will effectively pay Rs 9,049 for the new version of this smartphone. The smartphone ships with a special night reading mode and the capability to adjust the temperature. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC and runs on Android Nougat. The 32GB model is also available in 2GB RAM, which will be useful for senior citizens for basic operations. It is yet to be seen whether the Redmi Note 4 being sold via offline stores like Xiaomi's own Mi Homes will be subject to a similar price cut.

The smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera, while there is a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. The battery is the highlight of the Redmi Note 4 at 4100 mAh. The selfie camera slot includes face recognition functionality, which will enable you to capture images easily. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Global Positioning System with AGS/GLONASS and USB Type C. The handset measures 151 x 76 x 8.35mm and weighs 175 grams. As part of the special sale, Flipkart is also 5% discount if you purchase the device using Axis Bank Buzz credit card. However, there is a catch to this "exchange offer".
