With Karmichael Hunt firming to play in the centres against England, Beale and the former NRL star would potentially switch positions during the game, allowing the NSW Waratahs back the freedom pop up in attack as much as possible.

On the field, it was Beale who stripped the ball from a Welsh rival and dashed 65m to settle the Test with the key try.

'It was great to have a yarn with him, celebrating in the sheds with us!

That was the first time Beale and Hunt had played together, with the latter injured during the Rugby Championship and Beale missing June.

"With K, he brings a lot of class and lot of energy and a lot of calmness", Beale said.

"Everyone is pushing. There are a lot of guys with experience and a lot of guys who are pushing those older guys and it's creating a really healthy environment".

"He has added a lot to us for sure".

Beale didn't line up for the Wallabies previous year because of a knee injury and he was contracted to Wasps for the December fixture.

"He's the most wonderfully gifted player", he said.

To understand the Jones raves for Beale "doing things other players don't even dream of", you need to realise he saw the Wallaby teetering on the precipice of a wasted career.

"He's got that ability to make that big play". He adds that extra dimension that you don't know where he's going to turn up in attack.

"Rooney was no angel at Manchester United just as Thurston, in rugby league, used to have issues, yet they were managed smartly and both were very successful", Jones said.

"He's an outstanding player so we're going to have to watch him carefully".
