Google Pixel 2 photos/videos display major banding with LED lights around

Just yesterday we reported on the unresponsive Google Assistant issues and touch near the edges of the smartphone. It seems that the device's camera isn't too fond of LED-lit surroundings.

Ever since the new Google Pixel 2 XL was released, users have been reporting issues after issues with the Google Pixel 2 XL display.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 customers have experienced odd image banding in their photos and videos both taken via front and rear cameras under LED lighting.

The problem isn't with Pixel 2 or Pixel 2XL camera, but with LED lights themselves.

The original Google Pixel phone also had issues with its camera, due to the cover glass generating a "halo" effect that tended to make its way to nearly every video and photo taken with the phone. Apparently, LED lights do not emit stable light, instead, they let off a flickering light that isn't detectable by the human eye. Google did release a new update this month to fix some of the issues that users have been facing but it looks like there is more.

There's, however, no official word on whether or not the Mountain View, California-based company is taking the problem on priority, and when a fix will be rolled out.
