Sebastian Aho added his first goal of the season and two assists, and Jordan Staal's career-high four assists gave him 201 with the Hurricanes.

Teravainen has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in the past nine games. Jordan Staal, who rung up four assists in the game, was once again the provider.

Tuevo Teravainen registered a natural hat trick and added an assist. After Darling denied Jamie Benn at the top of the crease, Tyler Seguin circled the net and set up Radulov for a one-timer from the right circle.

After the game, Teravainen said, "I'm more like passer, I'm not a gaol scorer". "He doesn't have a lot of games in the league to be a go-to guy, but I see his game maturing in that he's really learning when to live to fight another day with the puck".

Aho scored his first goal of the season at 8:07 of the first period to give the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead. Teravainen made a great play in the defensive zone to win the puck, which fell to the stick of Staal.

"It takes time when you've made as many changes - all for the good - as we have", Peters said.

Staal skated around a Stars defender and delivered a crisp pass to Aho all alone in front of goal.

"I liked the fact we scored on the power play", Carolina coach Bill Peters said. "He has been playing well so you knew it was going to come". Hopefully now everything returns to normal. It was a shortened man advantage for the Stars, as Canes forward Justin Williams went to the box during a Carolina power play.

Carolina, in a 1-for-29 man-advantage slump, scored its first power-play goal in six games when Teravainen notched his fourth goal of the season 2:39 into the final period to break a 1-1 tie. The Stars have scored at least one power-play goal in 13 of their 17 games. "We had the game right there and we cracked".

"I tried to be positive and just go and make plays, just not think about it too much", Aho said of his goal drought, which almost mirrored his start last season when he didn't score until his 14th game. He's not out of the woods yet, but Monday's game was a positive that he'll need to build on. It was another hard wrister, this time from between the circles, that got past Bishop. Teuvo was on fire and it was fun to play with him today. "I think he scores from everywhere he shoots".

Jeff Skinner scored the other Carolina goal in the closing seconds.

Carolina will now embark on a two-game road trip before returning home Sunday to host the Islanders.

Dallas Marc Methot missed a second straight game with a lower-body injury. "Now everyone is getting comfortable and we're getting some results". "It's coming for sure, there's no question".
