Famous guitar Martin D-28 (1963 issue) became after using it with Bob Dylan at a charity concert ("Concert for Bangladesh"), which was organized by a former member of "The Beatles" Harrison in 1971.

The guitar was put up for auction by Dylan's guitar fix expert Larry Cragg, 30 years after he bought the instrument from the musical icon in 1977 for a mere $500.

Dylan's guitar was purchased from Heritage Auctions by an anonymous bidder. "It's been a pleasure owning this incredible piece of music history, but the time is right for it to find a new owner who will appreciate it as much as Bob and I did".

Officials with the Dallas-based Heritage Auctions say that a famous guitar owned by Minnesota native Bob Dylan was auctioned off for almost 400 thousand dollars. In 1977, Dylan chose to perform exclusively with Gibson guitars and sold the instrument to Cragg. Cragg purchased the acoustic guitar from the music icon in 1977 for $500; a copy of the receipt was included in the sale along with additional provenance.

Dylan owned and played the guitar for at least a decade spanning the late 1960s through the late 1970s. For further information, www.ha.com or 877-437-4824.
