Rohtak: Rejecting claims by Gurmeet Ram Rahim's jail inmates, Haryana Government on Tuesday said that no VIP treatment is being given to Dera Sacha Sauda chief in Rohtak jail.

Right from special meals being prepared in the kitchen for the baba to restricting other inmates from various activities, Ram Rahim seems to have an easy life inside the prison. He, however, said neither he nor any other inmate has ever seen Ram Rahim in jail and only heard about him from officials.

"While rest of the prisoners can only meet visitors for 20 minutes, Ram Rahim's visitors are allowed for two hours", Jain further divulged.

"He isn't being given VIP treatment and is living like any other inmate". "Since he came, everyone is having a lot of problems. Even basic necessities like clothes and shoes stopped coming in", said the convict. His fellow prison-mate, however, says that in the nearly three months time he has been lodged there, none of the other prisoners have ever seen him. "The supply gradually began after that", Jain said.

"A lot of restrictions were put after Ram Rahim was brought in". "We have never seen him work either".

Adjoining his barrack, there is a small plot of land where grows vegetables, K P Singh, DGP (jails), Haryana had told reporters.

The "bling baba" who was convicted for raping two female followers by Panchkula's special court earlier in August, has been lodged in the Rohtak Jail ever since the sentencing.

The last reports on him suggested that due to security reasons, the jail authorities had changed his prisoner number.

Jain alleged that since Ram Rahim's arrival, other prisoners had been deprived of basic necessities. The case was registered by the CBI in December 2002 on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
