A Tennessee State football player has been expelled after an violent altercation with a coach on the sideline this weekend during the team's 23-20 win against Southeast Missouri State.

Lee, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound part-time starter, was kicked off the team by coach Rod Reed and expelled, athletic director Teresa Phillips told The Tennessean.

Strength and conditioning coach T.J. Greenstone was knocked to the ground after Latrelle Lee, a senior defensive end, reportedly punched him multiple times in the head.

He did not play in Saturday's game.

University officials were informed and as of 10:30 a.m. on Monday the student has been withdrawn from school. Greenstone is charged with keeping players from getting too close to the sideline during games, to avoid a penalty.

Video below shows Lee punching Greenstone on the sideline during Saturday's game. Adding, "We are committed to supporting the coach who was personally affected and our concern now is with him".

Lee played in a total of 16 games during his freshman and sophomore seasons, but started just two game this season.
