On the other hand, the CBFC chairman Mobashir Hasan said, "The film is yet to be viewed by the full board and see if there are any objections".

Mahira Khan's upcoming film "Verna" has reportedly been banned in Pakistan after landing in hot water with the country's censor board. "The film doesn't have to be banned and can be tweaked and censored a bit to be deemed fit for release". We have failed to understand what censor board has found objectionable in Verna, she added. Her film Verna is facing extreme opposition in Pakistan. Nothing has been decided and the film is not banned so far.

It is not yet certain why the Mahira Khan-starrer has been banned, however, the filmmakers have a chance of turning their fate around - if they issue an appeal in time.

"Verna" is Shoaib Mansoor's third movie as director as earlier he directed "Khuda Ke Liye" and "Bol". And while the makers are doing everything in their power to get the film released on November 17, Twitter is enraged! Mahira's movie is about a rape survivor who fights for justice.

Exclusively talking to Dunya News, Mahira Khan hoped that censor board will soon clear the film as the concept is good and everything in the movie handled carefully.
