Bagley was on the ground for some time, and Duke even put up a wall to try and keep the cameras from catching him as he was tended to by the team's doctors. The preseason ACC and national Freshman of the Year definitely earned both awards in the first week of the 2017-18 college basketball season after a historic start to the year.

ESPN reported that Bagley didn't shoot at all before the second half started, and that he appeared to be having trouble opening the eye that was poked and wouldn't return.

As you can see, it was a pretty stiff poke to the eye, which left him on the court for several minutes before he was ultimately able to get up and walk to the locker room.

Bagley scored 25 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in Friday's 97-68 win over Elon and followed that with 24 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's 99-69 victory over Utah Valley. The Phoenix native became the first Duke freshman with back-to-back double-doubles in any two games since January of 2016, when Brandon Ingram went for 19 point and 10 rebounds versus Miami and 14 points and 10 boards versus Georgia Tech.

Many basketball fans were looking forward to getting their first glimpse of Bagley in a Duke uniform. Bagley was originally slated to be part of the 2018 class, but reclassified much to the delight of Duke fans.

For me, coming in with this group of guys, it was a big adjustment for me.
