Blake Shelton was named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine, a first for any country singer, prompting "The Voice" judge to shake off his shyness about his looks.

Indeed, the gossip was true.

"I'm not going to treat this like Hugh Jackman or one of those guys who's humble about it. People are going to hate me over this", Shelton joked.

He also said that he couldn't wait to rub the honor in the face of his friend and fellow "Voice" judge, People's 2013 Sexiest Man Alive pick, Adam Levine.

"That y'all must be running out of people", he said to People. He continues to hold the title of the most-winning coach on the hit NBC series, and is in place for season 14 following the one he's now in.

"Despite being a heartthrob with a fan base of millions, the 6'5" Oklahoma-bred Shelton - whose latest album, Texoma Shore, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums this week- insists he had a few awkward phases while growing up. Admit it, unless you are Gwen Stefani or one of his many adoring fans, Shelton's charms may not be that readily apparent. Sexy, ' you'd always see him go, 'Well, awwww...' If you say that to me, it's going to be, 'You're damn right, I'm Mr.

"The best part for me, selfishly, is discovering a part of myself that I guess I never really knew was in there", he explained.

The men of "This Is Us" are bringing sexy back to TV.

People will announce its Sexiest Man Alive on Tuesday ahead of the issue's debut November 15.
