The smartphone is equipped with a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 630, an octa-core processor, followed by 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 508 graphics card.

What is more interesting though is the fact that the smartphone has a 6-inch FullHD display and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The device has been codenamed the Sony H3213 Avenger and the dual-camera setup will be located on the front of the camera instead of the usual rear placement.

Sony is one of the rare smartphone manufacturers yet to latch on to the dual camera craze.

The Sony H3213 Avenger packs a 21MP rear camera with support for 4K video recording, autofocus, and HDR photography. It has a 16MP primary sensor that can record in 4K and its paired with an 8MP sensor. Also, the Sony H3213 Avenger is said to come with 20GB of internal memory. As surprising as it sounds, Sony still hasn't launched a smartphone with dual cameras. At least the single 21 megapixel main camera looks promising. What remains to be known is the design, price tag, and release date.

Coming to the specifications, the smartphones feature a 5.2-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The accompanying Adreno 508 GPU makes us quite confident we're looking at a popular mid-end Snapdragon 630 SoC now found inside devices like the Moto X4, Nokia 7 and HTC U11 Life. The Xperia R1 Plus on the other hand has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and is available for Rs 14,990.

The Xperia R1 comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 12,990. It combines a 16 megapixel sensor with an 8 megapixel one, though we're not yet privy to whether it will be a telephoto/wide angle combo or an RGB and monochrome pair. The Xperia R1 Plus and Xperia R1 feature a 2620mAh battery. The phone offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and Global Positioning System as connectivity options.
