McLaren previews new Ultimate Series again, "most extreme" road vehicle yet

It won't end there, though, with McLaren revealing the new hyper-GT will be another Ultimate Series model codenamed the BP23 - a vehicle the British sports auto maker claims will become the world's first "hyper-GT". The more touring-focused model is slated to revive the McLaren F1's iconic 1+2 cabin layout, and we wouldn't be surprised to see this one adopt a similar central seating position as well.

Details about the BP23 are scant at the moment, although the company claims it will be the "most extreme road-legal McLaren ever" and the "world's first Hyper-GT".

The British manufacturer is hailing the now unnamed hypercar as the most extreme, track-orientated road auto it has produced. The core of McLaren's range of cars forms the Super Series, but the Ultimate Series is meant to provide a more intense driving experience.

"With daily usability sacrificed to give the most intensive driver experience around a circuit, the new Ultimate Series auto will be the ultimate track-concentrated McLaren", says the manufacturer, proclaiming that this is being designed "as the most extreme road-legal McLaren ever".

McLaren has previously announced that it plans to launch 15 new models or derivatives before the end of 2022 under its Track22 business plan, of which this new Ultimate Series auto will be the third. This falls under its "Track22" business plan, and is expected to include new models in all sections of its showroom, such as the Sport Series entry supercars and the Super Series mid-range supercars.

The vague teaser shows what appears to be the left-side taillight cluster with air vents above it. McLaren has a habit of creating outrageous rear end designs, especially in the Ultimate Series.
