National Football League power rankings: Eagles stay on top; Cowboys plummet

But the Cowboys, who had reached as high as No. 4 in National Football League power rankings just last week, have seen their outlook plummet ahead of Sunday night's big matchup against the Birds at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. He expects the Cowboys to make adjustments in this NFC East battle. For all intent and purposes, the Eagles are taking down the division title. "They run the same runs and you have to defend the runs the same way, but Elliott is a strong back that has great vision".

Here are other concerns I can't shake off... I'm referring to Ronald Darby.

On the flip side, though, if Smith is healthy, the Cowboys are a top-notch team in pass protection. And Pederson wasn't exactly the kind of personality that seemed to mesh well with Eagles fans who had seen him in town once before as a player and witnessed him fly under Reid's wing on the sidelines as an assistant. He's an outstanding player. It filters through all that stuff.

It's a new day for the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans as they and their quarterback have turned into one of the most popular shows in the NFL. "Obviously they'll try to get their best O-lineman back on the field for Sunday". The rest of the line has played well this season and Prescott has a unique ability to avoid pressure in and out of the pocket.

"If we want to make a run at winning this division, giving ourselves a chance to play late into the season, it's a game that we have to win", Prescott said.

Instead, the 8-1 Eagles will face a 5-4 Cowboys team that will be without their star back and potentially their star left tackle, Tyron Smith, who missed Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons with a groin injury. He doesn't have to reset the throw, and he's very accurate on the run.

According to offensive coordinator Frank Reich, the Eagles brought Prescott in for a visit and evaluated him a good bit during the pre-draft process in 2016. On the surface, the running game was inefficient, with the running backs tallying a total of 65 yards on 15 carries. In fairness, Prescott also appears to be the same quality individual, but he is surrounded by a mess in Dallas. Alfred Morris made 53 yards on 11 carries while Jason Witten made 7 receptions for 59 yards.

With Darby on the practice field and "trending" toward returning to the starting left side on Sunday, the Eagles' defense should get a boost.

This isn't going to be anywhere close to an easy out for the Eagles.

Last season, much like the Eagles are doing right now, the Dallas Cowboys were steam rolling everybody as they entered the playoffs with a 13-3 record and Johnson's grandmother was right there to cheer on her favorite team.
