Phil Jones is hopeful of recovering from the calf injury he suffered playing for England and being available for Manchester United's late game against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Manchester United boss José Mourinho is throwing his future at the Old Trafford into doubt as new contract talks are stalling and Psg have already informed the Portuguese tactician about their interest in welcoming his services.

Manchester United are now eight points behind runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City.

United are unlikely to go back in for him mid-season, but they do have their eyes on as different type of creative player.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has been linked with PSG.

So it comes as a potential boost for Newcastle that Manchester United have reportedly identified a replacement for Shaw.

Soler is a 20-year-old midfielder who has played a key role for Valencia this season as they have emerged as title challengers in Spain's top flight.

United have also considered the possibility of offering Andreas Pereira - who is now thriving on loan at Valencia - plus cash for Soler.

According to Delaney, Mourinho has "become increasingly concerned on how injury to Paul Pogba has had a greater effect on his whole team".

Delaney notes that Soler would likely cost around £40 million, but United could explore the possibility of including Andreas Pereira in a cash-plus-player arrangement.

In United's UEFA Champions League home meeting with FC Basel in mid-September however, Pogba was forced off with what was initially expected to see the former Juventus man miss only a few weeks of action.

Silva also came through the ranks at Valencia.
