Publisher THQ Nordic has acquired Swedish developer Experiment 101 for an undisclosed amount of money today.

Experiment 101, the team behind the celebrated Biomutant, has been snagged up by THQ Nordic along with the rights to the game's IP.

The IP acquisition itself is being handled by THQ Nordic AB, based in Karlstad, Sweden, whereas the day-to-day business will be handled by THQ Nordic GmbH, based in Vienna, Austria.

Biomutant, an interesting-looking indie starring a bipedal sword-toting fox with a grasshopper companion, has been acquired by publisher THQ Nordic.

If you don't know, Experiment 101 is now over Biomutant, which is set to release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in early 2018.

"In addition to continue leading the Biomutant franchise, Stefan will advise on our strategy, future acquisitions and further game development projects".

Biomutant is a post-apocalyptic adventure game where players take control of a small, furry, raccoon-like creature with a big sword and a gun, and set off across a lovely yet unsafe world to have whatever adventure the game's plot centers around.

Biomutant also features a fully customizable (MMO style) character and mutation system, bionics and creative item crafting, plus an interactive narrative featuring a contextual storyteller where the players creates their own story of survival in a vibrant colorful world. Could Biomutant be a great game?

THQ Nordic seems to be going for a lot of adventure games lately, since they've picked up the Darksiders series and started to make Darksiders 3 out of it, being developed by Gunmetal Games.
