There might still be 38 days to go until Christmas - but we've just had our very first look at Doctor Who's festive special, courtesy of Children In Need.

The short clip teased Whovians with a glimpse at the episode, titled Twice Upon a Time, as the Doctor (played by Peter Capaldi) shared a joke with a World War One officer (Mark Gatiss) and the First Doctor (David Bradley). The First Doctor is shocked by what he sees, a TARDIS that does not at all resemble his own, while the Captain is taken aback by how the TARDIS is bigger on the inside.

In this new clip of the special, Capaldi's Who banters with Bradley's Who, even wisecracking about spoilers.

Take a look at the video above. It will also introduce Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor.

For the past few years, Doctor Who episodes have been heavily rationed, with tiny slivers of deliciousness eeked out, sometimes once a year, as fans desperately wait for more.

The Doctor Who Christmas Special will air on Christmas Day on BBC America.

Whittaker, will officially make her debut as the Doctor in next month's Doctor Who Christmas special, during which Peter Capaldi will bid farewell to the role.
