OU QB Baker Mayfield gives Kansas an inappropriate gesture after TD

He now has 1,231 yards and nine touchdowns this season.

In what could conservatively be described as a bold move, the Kansas captains indignantly refused to shake hands with the Oklahoma captains.

Senior quarterback Baker Mayfield takes it himself for a huge gain November 11. Mayfield responded by laughing, clapping and briefly getting in Armstrong's face.

Mayfield, who came up empty when he reached out for a handshake at the coin toss, continued his Heisman campaign by completing 20 of his 30 passing attempts for 257 passing yards and three touchdowns. The climax of a contentious afternoon, Mayfield grabbed his crotch and yelled shouted an expletive in KU's direction.

"Y'all school has one win", Mayfield said. "Go cheer on basketball". Jordan Smallwood scored three plays later for a 14-3 lead.

Starting at their own 16-yard line with 50 seconds left in the half, Mayfield orchestrated a three-play, 84-yard touchdown drive in only 40 seconds - thanks, in large part, to mistakes by KU cornerback Hasan Defense. The sophomore committed a blatant roughing the passer penalty on Mayfield on the drive's first play - a 30-yard completion to fullback Dimitri Flowers - and a holding penalty on the next play that set OU up at the KU 29. Anderson finished the 34-yard play by diving into the end zone for the first score of the game.

After both teams punted on their opening possession, the Sooners took advantage of a short field, going 41 yards in 4 plays for a touchdown.

The Jayhawks actually forced the Sooners into four three-and-outs in the first half, one of the worst defenses in the nation holding in check one of its best offenses. By that point, there were next to no KU fans left at the team's home finale to further heckle Mayfield. The Sooners (10-1, 7-1) are fourth in the College Football Playoff ranking and clinched a spot in the revived Big 12 title game, while the Jayhawks (1-10, 0-8) have yet to beat a Football Bowl Subdivision foe. No start time has been announced for that game.

With the loss, Kansas has now dropped 13 straight games to Oklahoma, with its last win coming back in 1997.
