It looked incredibly bleak in the early going, but the Warriors stormed back in a major way in the second half to complete a comeback of epic proportions in a 124-116 road win over the 76ers on Sunday.

But the Warriors erased that large deficit with a furious rally in the third quarter. "It was a defensive battle both ways", Golden State point guard Stephen Curry told reporters.

Are the Golden State Warriors going to cover the spread for the second time in as many weeks tonight versus the host Philadelphia 76ers? Celtics guard Kyrie Irving made all seven of his foul shots in the fourth quarter to help Boston beat the defending National Basketball Association champions. Rookie point forward Ben Simmons produced 23 points, eight rebounds and 12 assists.

However, a third-quarter collapse by the Sixers cost them the lead, and ultimately, the game. Embiid embraced the frenzied fans and slapped hands with a guy sitting courtside after a dunk.

The Warriors still lead the entire Western Conference, but they remain tied with James Harden and the 12-4 Houston Rockets. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is averaging 14.1 points and 5.4 rebounds while DeMarre Carroll is averaging 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds.

Back home for the first time following a five-game road trip to the West Coast, the Sixers showed no jet lag in the first half. After struggling over the L.A. trip, J.J. Redick had a strong first quarter with eight points on 3-for-4 shooting. They hit 50 percent of their three's in the first half, but finished with a 34.9 percent line from beyond the arc. But Embiid finished off the half with a dunk that sent the Sixers into the locker room up 74-52. Philadelphia's 47-point first quarter was the most points the Warriors allowed in any quarter since November 14, 1992 against Portland (48 in the fourth quarter). Klay Thompson is the third double-digit scorer and Draymond Green is grabbing 7.7 rebounds. Embiid and Philadelphia will be taking on a Warriors squad that had a seven-game winning streak snapped and scored a season low in a 92-88 loss at Boston on Thursday.
