The acclaimed writer and producer created the character with Bruce Timm, and introduced her on the 1992 episode of Batman: The Animated Series "Joker's Favor".

Beyond these initial details, not much else is known about the Harley Quinn animated series, but you can undoubtedly count on us to keep you in the loop as more information becomes available.

Writer/artist Amanda Conner, who along with Jimmy Palmiotti is one of the comics creators most closely associated with Harley in recent years, is involved in the animated series, however, providing art in the development process.

The new Harley Quinn series is being produced by Powerless executive producers Jstin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey and will see the fan favourite character attempting to make it on her own as the criminal Queenpin of Gotham City after breaking things off with the Joker once and for all. It is the third series to receive the greenlight for DC's new SVOD platform, following orders for the live-action series Titans from Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Sarah Schechter, and a Young Justice revival. Hopefully, there are other new shows that will be part of the new service that have yet to be announced as well. I'm also hoping with this news we get a Harley Quinn/Young Justice crossover somewhere down the line ... The kicker is that this TV series will in fact be an R-rated adult take, and WB reportedly has their sights on Robbie to reprise her role, though she has not yet officially signed on to voice the popular psychiatrist turned psycho. Her portrayal of Harley in last year's Suicide Squad movie was easily the best part of that film, and she's due for a spin-off or two based on her character. The unnamed service is expected to launch in 2018. Be sure to let us know down below in the comments.
