Linkin Park won the award for Favorite Rock Alternative Artist category at the 2017 American Music Awards 2017 held at Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, Sunday (11/19/2017) evening local time.

Co-frontman Mike Shinoda, drummer Rob Bourdon and guitarist Brad Delson all accepted the award on the band's behalf. And make Chester proud'.

Back in July, the entertainment industry was rocked by the news of Chester Bennington's death.

"We want to dedicate this award to him [Bennington] to his memory, his talents, his sense of humor, his joy".

The musician and father, 41, was found dead at his home in California on July 20.

Everyone was teary at the Hollywood Bowl for Linkin Park & Friends Celebrate Life In Honor of Chester Bennington. I want you guys to take a moment to appreciate what you've got.

In memory of the late rock star, who committed suicide earlier this year after a long battle with depression, Talinda Bennington spoke about mental health, her recently launched 320 Changes Direction outreach programme, and unveiled a special edition Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster designed by Linkin Park. What's more is that the two were incredibly close friends, and Bennington himself sang during Cornell's funeral.

This begs the question - did the security guard not know who Linkin Park was or did he know exactly who they were and was just living for his one true moment?
