Should the Chiefs Swap Alex Smith for Patrick Mahomes — TIMEOUT

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their fifth loss in six games, and quarterback Alex Smith was underwhelming in their 16-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills Sunday, but head coach Andy Reid said Monday he is sticking with the veteran behind centre. However, Reid said after the game he isn't giving up on Smith, and apparently he hasn't changed his mind - yet.

He has thrown seven touchdowns and three interceptions through Kansas City's slide and has averaged 256.6 yards per contest. Alex Smith missing an open Travis Kelce multiple times, Kareem Hunt looking more like a third round pick than a steal in the draft, and an offensive line that isn't creating holes or buying much time for Smith...the Chiefs had a chance to win in the final minutes.

Zay Jones had the touchdown reception and Stephen Hauschka kicked three field goals and the Bills defense held Kansas City to 236 yards of total offense.

The Chiefs were National Football League leaders in scoring when they were 5-0 but have come to a near-halt offensively of late.

"Without getting philosophical, and I'm not sitting here with a crystal ball or projecting things like that, that's not how I roll", Reid said, via Arrowhead Pride. "We couldn't get much rhythm going until the second half and then we got a little going".

"Everybody's got a piece". "We've all got a responsibility to do our job at all positions, starting with me, and that's not getting done the right way".
