SC will have a new signal caller for its January 1 game against MI.

Dan Wolken, a college sports columnist for USA Today, wrote in a Twitter post Tuesday night that staff changes are coming at USC and Roper is not expected to be retained.

SC announced that offensive coordinator Kurt Roper has been let go in advance of the team's matchup with the Michigan Wolverines in the Outback Bowl and head coach Will Muschamp said the following in the public release concerning the firing.

Roper was also the offensive coordinator under Muschamp at Florida before taking a job with the Cleveland Browns as the senior offensive assistant coach.

"After much deliberation, I have chose to go in a different direction with the offensive coordinator position on our football team", said Muschamp.
