Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has waded into the speculation surrounding Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

The pundit was speaking with ex-Norway global Jan Aage Fjortoft of viaSport after Liverpool's 7-0 annihilation of Spartak Moscow in their final Champions League group stage clash while Coutinho joined the duo to discuss the game itself.

In total he has played for Liverpool one hundred and ninety-three times since signing from Internazionale, scoring forty-eight times. I am at Liverpool and I always do my best when I have the opportunity to play, respecting the jersey and the supporters.

'I see the Barcelona style, the truth is that he is at that level. From where I see it, he is more comfortable inside, but the good thing about this player is that he can play in several positions.

"Being versatile is also important".

Asked afterwards whether the atmosphere at Anfield was a major reason to stay with Liverpool, Coutinho was pretty guarded in his response.

Barcelona, though, will push on to try and convince both Liverpool and Coutinho to part ways next month as they look to tempt the Reds with an offer in excess of £135m.

'I would be lying if I said I wasn't anxious about it.

"It was a very special night".

The Spaniard's won two Premier League titles since returning to England and says he's happy under Antonio Conte despite struggling at times last term.
