The British singer-songwriter, who was announced as the most streamed artist on Spotify just days ago, has also topped Apple's list as the most listened-to artist in Australia on iTunes and Apple Music for 2017.

Ed Sheeran has snagged a triple crown of streaming for 2017, ranking as Spotify's most-streamed artist as well as tallying the most-streamed single ("Shape of You") and the top-streamed album ("Divide"). That's pretty fantastic for an artist who didn't release an album this year! "Lots of Love, Ed". The album beat out Drake's More Life, Lamar's DAMN, The Weeknd's Starboy and Post Malone's Stoney. The animated film hit theaters in November 2016, but songs from the soundtrack such as "How Far I'll Go" have carried it through this year, too. There's parts of what I do that drive me completely mental, but 99.9% of the time it's fantastic! "Thanks for all the support Apple Music and iTunes!"

Rihanna was the most streamed woman on Spotify for the third year in a row, despite her lack of major releases in 2017.

The "Castle on the Hill" star topped the list of artists on the streaming service, thanks to the release of "Divide".

After Ed in the most streamed track was Despacito (Remix) from Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat Justin Bieber. "Congratulations to Ed on an fantastic achievement", said Spotify chief content officer Stefan Blom in a statement.

Sheeran surpassed Drake, Spotify's most-streamed artist of 2015 and 2016. "Congratulations to Ed on an awesome achievement".
