Jackson is 1-27 since taking over the Browns in 2016.

ESPN reported on Thursday that the team made a decision to fire executive vice president Sashi Brown, who was the head of the Browns' personnel department, after almost full two seasons on the job. ESPN's Adam Schefter and Dianni Russini reported the news. Cleveland sits at 0-12 with games remaining against the Packers, Ravens, Bears and Steelers. The 2017 campaign marks the franchise's 10th straight losing record. Cleveland has a huge amount of draft capital thanks to Brown, but 24 selections in the last two cycles haven't resulted in a major talent influx.

"We have great appreciation and gratitude for Sashi's commitment and leadership to our organization but believe transitioning to someone with strong experience and success in drafting and building consistently winning football teams is critical to the future of the Cleveland Browns", Jimmy Haslam said in a statement.

Cleveland's next personnel leader will be tasked with selecting that player.

Brown orchestrated a blockbuster trade with Philadelphia for the No. 2 pick in the 2016 National Football League draft that allowed the Eagles to select quarterback Carson Wentz.

The (3-9) Bears are locked with the Browns for a battle for the worst team and top draft pick in the 2018 National Football League draft.

It's tough to get a read on what Hue Jackson is trying to do offensively, as DeShone Kizer was once again the leading rusher against a team with an average to below average run defense.
