The new trailer for Lynne Ramsay's You Were Never Really Here has dropped and it features Joaquin Phoenix serving up some traumatic realness as a PTSD-ridden vet who slowly unravels as he attempts to bust a senator's daughter out of a sex-trafficking ring.

First, let's say how absolutely glad we are to have Lynne Ramsay back. Phoenix plays a traumatized veteran who tracks down missing girls for a living.

You Were Never Really Here lands in United Kingdom cinemas on 9th March 2018. It's been nearly seven years since her last work, the utterly devastating and stunning We Need to Talk About Kevin, and after on-set troubles derailed her last project, the still-completed Natalie Portman western Jane Got Her Gun, it looks like she's found an idea even better suited to her particular talents. Check out the trailer below. The movie will be released in select theaters on April 6, 2018. "[Director Ramsay's] return seals her standing as one of our most fearless and forceful filmmakers, if not one as prolific as she deserves to be", said the LA Times. Like the film's narrative, he is only broken, and I mean that in the most mesmerizing way. Just put this movie in front of my face, right now.

The cast also includes Ekaterina Samsonov, Alessandro Nivola, Alex Manette, John Doman, and Judith Roberts.

The synopsis do the film reads: "A traumatised veteran, unafraid of violence, tracks down missing girls for a living".
