This is in spite of Apple's decision to move forward with OLED screens for its flagship handsets. Apple's new iPhone will also revert to aluminium chassis that means that no wireless charging will be offered. "The 6.1-inch LCD model will likely sport a metal back [like older iPhone handsets] and will come in several colors", the source was quoted as saying.

Pegatron is a smaller rival to key iPhone assembler Hon Hai Precision Industry, better known as Foxconn Technology Group. Fresh information shared by Nomura, a Japanese securities firm corroborates with the predictions of Kuo as it claims that the Cupertino company will be releasing two OLED iPhones and one LCD iPhone in 2018. It's believed that it's harder for Apple to produce additional color options in the glass back design of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, hence why this year's models are available in fewer color variations than last year's. It is said to be the most cheapest iPhone of Apple ever.

Apple is also rumored to be launching two other iPhone moels next year.

Apple may have reservations about using OLED exclusively, as it relies entirely on Samsung for the panels, said Eric Chiou, an analyst at Taipei-based research company WitsView. Kuo also suggests that this model will feature a 6.1-inch TFT LCD screen.

NIkkei's report does not mention the design of the phones' front panel.

Apple is purportedly planning to release an LCD iPhone with a metal back next year, according to a new report from Nikkei.

Nikkei revealed that the low cost of iPhone would be due to usage of LCD display instead of OLED which is most expensive.

As per usual, Apple is pretty mum in the wake of emerging rumors about its future iPhones.
