The 65-year-old musician has had to put some "big plans" on hold work-wise for the rest of year, which he's teased he'll be speaking about in his next blog post "soon".

Nile Rodgers has shared details of his hospitalisation earlier this year - stating that doctors found "two different cancers", though he is now in "100% recovery".

Rodgers said the new growth was discovered during a visit to hospital to treat a case of E. Coli he picked up while touring with Earth, Wind & Fire.

It was a lucky break for the legendary producer, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and, after years of treatment, got the all-clear.

After performing in Brooklyn on 2 November, he flew to Rochester in upstate NY and had the carcinogenic mass removed the following day.

"Six years after that doctor told me to get my affairs in order, today, six years later, I am cancer-free!" While his recent surgery forced the guitarist to postpone his 2017 plans, he added optimistically that "what will happen next year is beyond any of my wildest dreams".

"After the last seven years of wonderful life, I would have never believed that my body would be invaded by another cancer".

Writing under the title, "Cancer really?"

The incomparable Nile Rodgers has had a rough go over the past few years. "I'm Done. 2018 here I come!", Rodgers explores his journey from that initial cancer diagnosis, and how ever since he's "attacked life with gusto I didn't realize I'd had".

"My friend, musician extraordinaire Chris Cornell, would die this past spring".
