According to the Daily Mail, Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool are now ready to rival Barcelona's interest in the Nice midfielder, and have both sent scouts to watch the player in recent weeks.

Manchester City and Liverpool are plotting big money moves for Barcelona target Jean Michael Seri.

But the bid was rejected by Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere - much to the annoyance of Seri.

The same reports states that Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the midfielder, but the player is "excited" by the prospect of a move to England in January or the summer. The Germany global recently stated that he could well remain at Anfield beyond the summer and manager Jurgen Klopp is still hopeful of thrashing out an agreement with his compatriot, but the Reds are not prepared to insert a release clause into a prospective new deal.

While the Catalans abruptly pulled out of the race, both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are admirers of the Ivorian, who scored seven Ligue 1 goals and added nine assists last season.

Seri, who was also Arsenal and PSG's radar over the summer, missed the first month of the season through injury but is now fully fit and looking to help guide Nice up the Ligue 1 table after the inconsistent start to the new campaign.
