"This tribunal has very carefully seen the CD of the first press conference of Chief Minister Punjab after the incident in which he did not specifically mention about his direction of disengagement".

The report maintains that the operation planned and designed under Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah "could have easily been avoided" and that the "police officers actively participated in the massacre".

Shafqat called for resignation of Shehbaz Sharif and initiation of a criminal case against him in the court of law.

In a tweet, the PTI chief said that after the release of the Justice Ali Najafi judicial commission report, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah should "immediately resign for [the] killing of Pakistani citizens".

He also demanded immediate arrest of Rana Sanaullah in the light of Baqar Najfi's report which, according to him, had pointed finger at the Chief Minister and his close aide.

The main question deliberated in the report is how the order to use force to disperse the protesters came about, and whether Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif gave orders for the police to disengage and why these were not communicated to those on the ground.

The PTI chairman made the demand in a Twitter message a day after the Punjab government released an inquiry report on Model Town tragedy.

Rass contended that government's responsibility is to protect the lives of innocent people rather than plotting such massacres.
