Real Madrid still searching for best form despite Dortmund win - Zidane

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has made contact with Chelsea star Eden Hazard as he lines up a summer move, according to reports.

Zidane, meanwhile, is confident that his team can turn their form around when the Champions League resumes in February.

Zinedine Zidane is facing a defensive crisis heading into Real Madrid's game against Sevilla on Saturday after Raphael Varane came off with an injury during their Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday (6 December). "In between it cost us a bit, but I am happy with the game and being through again". The reigning European champions finished second in their group after losing to Tottenham Hotspur - who topped the group - in Wembley and could be drawn against the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Manchester City or AS Roma.

"On Monday we will see who we get, but knowing that it will be a hard opponent", Zidane said.

The Portuguese, who is expected to pick up his fifth Ballon d'Or on Thursday, fired a spectacular effort into the top corner to become the first player to ever score in all six group games in the one season.

That Hazard in the same week stated "I do not know what will happen in my career in the future, but it would be a dream to play for Zidane" is being seen as no coincidence.

"Rafa has been hurt, we will have tests tomorrow", Zidane said.

The Times says that Hazard has shelved talks until the end of the season, when Hazard then jets off to face England at the World Cup.

"It is obvious that I like playing in this competition a lot, but the most important thing is to be able to get into the next round once more", he said. "He doesn't think it's a serious problem, but he is definitely out for Saturday".

"It was a very good start to the game, and a good end to the game", Zidane said.

"We've got a squad and I'm going to look to find a solution".

"There is a chance, we can sign players when the market opens on January 1", he said.
