The Onslow County District Attorney's Office confirmed to WTVD that the remains are Mariah Woods. The 3-year-old vanished from her Jacksonville home on November 27. A public visitation for Mariah was held Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Additional charges against Kimrey could be pending as the investigation continues. He faced a judge earlier this week and was charged with concealing of death, obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, felony larceny and possession of stolen property.

Kristy Woods, the children's mother, knew of the sexual abuse and "failed to protect the juveniles from exposure to sexual abuse", according to the court documents.

Kimrey also sexually abused Mariah Woods' two brothers, beat them with a belt, and left one boy with a bloody nose when he hit him in the face, according to the documents.

Dozens attended a vigil for the little girl on Tuesday.

A lot of effort went into the search for three-year-old Mariah Woods last week and it took the generosity of a community to help bring everything and everyone together. Mariah's body was found December 2.

Earl Kimrey, the girl's boyfriend, was charged with disposing of her body.
