Taj Gibson's full-court heave confuses Jimmy Butler

The Timberwolves won 113-107. The second came on a jump shot from the baseline. Jimmy Butler saw that and instead of laughing it off, he blared out a "What the fuck was that?" They had lost five of seven games before winning Sunday, and then lost to a Memphis Grizzlies team Monday that was in the midst of an 11-game losing streak.

That would be asking too much at this point. He is not known for his play on that side, but he drew a charge from Jordan to start the second half, found himself on the perimeter guarding Danilo Gallinari at times and helped set the tone with his blocks.

The Minnesota Timberwolves forward offered a last-second heave so inadequate it confused his teammate to the point he had to say something.

Despite production from up and down the lineup, it was a rather ho-hum victory for the Timberwolves considering they led by as many 19 points after halftime only to let the Clippers back into the game. The two have played together for years in Chicago and now they're back together in Minnesota, so this is all love. Jeff Teague also scored 19, while Andrew Wiggins and Taj Gibson scored 16 each, with Gibson collecting 14 of those in the first half. Crawford then signed with Minnesota. Lou Williams and Austin Rivers led the Clippers with 23 points apiece, while Jordan finished with 18 points and 21 rebounds.

On Wednesday, he scored four consecutive points that helped push the Wolves' lead to 111-100 with 2:04 left, a lead they never gave back. Gallinari shifted from small forward to power forward, replacing Griffin.

"It's just been a steady progression I think", Thibodeau said. But I wasn't, so I'll be better next game. He has missed every game since November 5th due to a left glute strain. He shot a disappointing 35.5 percent, including 26 percent from 3-point range, in nine games before he was sidelined.

Clippers: G Milos Teodosic (plantar fascia) remained out, but coach Doc Rivers said he is close to returning.

There hasn't been any detail yet on if Gallinari will have a minute restriction, but expect the team to be a little cautious with him. "He was battling with DeAndre Jordan all night".

It was a step in the right direction. Well. We're not going to spell it out here, but if you're any good at reading lips, it's pretty clear.
