U2 stun fans with impromptu concert in Berlin underground station

Irish rockers U2 surprised commuters in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday (06Dec17) by performing at a station on their namesake underground train line.

ACHTUNG Baby - here's Bono and and The Edge doing the Sweetest Thing for fans in Berlin's today. 120 people travelled with them to the Deutsche Oper stop, where they disembarked and played a set that included 'One' and new song 'Get Out of Your Own Way'.

The pair's appearance follows the release of U2's new album Songs Of Experience which was released at the beginning of December. U2, the band, also has a history in Berlin.

Songs of Experience is a companion album to the band's last studio effort, 2014's Songs of Innocence. Weeks before the release of the album, he was among a raft of wealthy figures named in the so-called Paradise Papers showing how individuals park money in tax havens to avoid tax.

Songs of Experience, which dropped December 1, via Interscope Records in the US, is on track to become U2's eighth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.
