Wenger rules out Sanchez, Ozil exits in January

Potentially available for a free transfer at the end of the season, Man Utd were reported to be strong suitors.

Emirates insiders have suggested a stunning breakthrough in negotiations is "very, very close".

However, Mourinho seems to be the one that wants Ozil the most as the source also added that the playmaker will receive a signing-on bonus if the winter deal goes through.

The 29-year-old is now rated at around £15m-20m by the north London giants, and the Gunners boss remains reluctant on selling him to Manchester United and would place priority on transfer interest from overseas clubs.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for former Real Madrid star Ozil, who joined Arsenal from Los Blancos in the summer of 2013.

The World Cup victor has been recently linked with a potential move to Old Trafford, but the ongoing talks are likely to emerge a bitter blow for Jose Mourinho, who is said to eye a reunion with the former Real Madrid man.

While Manchester United are thought to be keen to sign the former Real Madrid man, Arsenal would prefer to sell him overseas rather than a Premier League rival.

But with Arsene Wenger unwilling to let go of the maestro on a free, he may have to sell him to his old nemesis Mourinho in January if a deal is not struck.

Arsenal thrashed Huddersfield Town 5-0 on Thursday as a second-half onslaught helped to maintain their 100 percent home record in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal sit fifth in the table at present, one point behind Liverpool and 15 adrift of unbeaten leaders Manchester City. Giroud himself would be best served showing how much of a difference he can make as a line-leading striker and target man to Arsenal before his contract comes up rather than touting Ozil. The Red Devils already have Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata, both players similar to the German in both style of play and calibre.
