The incident reportedly took place at 4:30pm on Thursday. The police team from Chennai has sought the help of the Mumbai Police to nab him.

A police team from Chennai city was escorting him to Chennai after he was said to be nabbed from his hide out in Mumbai on Wednesday. This tracked him down after they realised that he had a weakness for betting on horse races. And while this has led police to further suspect Dhasvanth's role in the murder, one investigating official told TNM that it is hard to believe that he would kill his own mother. The police traced Dashwanth to Mumbai after enquired his prison friends - history sheeters James and David. His father accused him of murdering his wife.

Police produced him before a magistrate court and obtained a transit warrant to bring him from Mumbai to Chennai. The Mahila Court framed charges against Daswant and the trial in the case was set to begin on December 5. The case was adjourned as Daswant went missing. He alleged that his son was demanding money for some days and he refused to give him.
