Jack Kennedy's miraculous recovery to win

Teenage riding star Jack Kennedy has once again advertised his considerable skills in the saddle by performing an acrobatic feat to stay aboard and eventually win on Robin Des Mana at Clonmel.

Kennedy's Gordon Elliott-trained mount was a 7-2 chance for the Clonmel Racecourse Supporters Club Only 90 Euros Beginners Chase and set out to make all the running in the two-mile contest.

While his horse continued at full speed, Kennedy struggled to pull himself back onto his mount and looked a certainty to hit the turf.

Those who had Robin Des Mana backed for the win will certainly have endured the range of emotions today. It was a little bit embarrassing that I got thrown out of the saddle so I said I better try my best to stay on him.

"I just got in underneath and it shot me out of the saddle".

His extraordinary effort to get back aboard was rewarded with Robin Des Mana fighting off a late challenge by Kiera Royale to score by half-a-length in one of the more remarkable performances. "I was lucky the railing was there because I would have been out of the race if it wasn't".
