JI announces countrywide protests over Trump's Jerusalem decision

Religious parties and lawyers' associations are taking out protests across the country today against President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

Similarly, lawyers' bodies will take out a protest at GPO Chowk on Mall Road, located next to the Lahore High Court.

Meanwhile, a large number of security personnel have been deployed around the US Consulate building in Karachi to prevent any untoward incident.

He said that Trump has put the world peace at stake by making this decision.

About 200 people from Islamic organizations expressed their disagreement with U.S. President Donald Trump's decision.

Earlier, Trump recognized the disputed city of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, prompting an nearly universal diplomatic backlash and fears of new bloodshed in the Middle East. He said, "Trump's Jerusalem move is like adding fuel to the fire". "It's right thing to do", he declared.

Hundreds of people gathered outside the US embassy in Jakarta on Friday, strongly opposing the USA decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
