Kapoor family gathers for Shashi Kapoor prayer meet at Prithvi Theatre

And his death, sent shockwaves through the industry and the whole country mourned the loss of the veteran actor and the film fraternity came forward to offer their condolences to the grieving Kapoor Khandaan.

Legendary actor Shashi Kapoor passed away on 4th of December, 2017.

Today, the Kapoors organised for a prayer meet at the famous Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai, which was started by Shashi Kapoor himself along with his wife Jennifer Kendall.

The memorial, held outside Shashi Kapoor's father Prithviraj Kapoor's house where his elder brother Raj Kapoor was born, saw celebrities from all walks of life and Fans across the border pay a heartful tribute to him.

Waheeda, who worked with him in "Namak Halal", "Kabhie Kabhie" attended the prayer meet along with actors Rekha and others.

Guests paid their respects as his popular song "Ek Raasta Hai Zindagi" played in the background.

The prayer meet included Rekha, veteran singer Asha Bhonsle, Danny Denzongpa, Kiran Rao, Prem Chopra, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Abbas-Mustan. Rishi Kapoor presided over events and also Amitabh Bachchan was there to speak but nothing is as special as this picture which can give you goosebumps.

He made his debut as a leading man in the 1961 film "Dharmputra" and went on to appear in more than 116 films during the '70s and until the mid '80s.

He was the recipient of the Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award as well as several film honours over the years.
