Indeed, when the PC Gamer crew disbanded after the final heist, we thought we were done for good. The trailer above shows that it'll involve a whole host of the new vehicles Rockstar has added to the game over the last few years, including the military bunker vehicles and the aircraft from Smuggler's Run.

Jet packs, flying cars, underwater cars and a trip inside the mysterious Mount Chilliad-all that and more look like they'll be part of The Doomsday Heist, a surprise "epic new online adventure" Rockstar announced today for Grand Theft Auto Online.

This comes as a surprising announcement, given that Rockstar stated that new Heists weren't on the cards after its long and troublesome development.

Revolving around a billionaire tech mogul, an idealistic intelligence agent, socially awkward conspiracy theorist and neurotic supercomputer, GTA Online: The Doomsday Heist will see you banding together to save San Andreas from annihilation by an apocalyptic threat. The Doomsday Heist will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 12. I'll be bothering some friends to take part in it with me, I can tell you!

Alongside new toys to play with, The Doomsday Heist is set to bring back fan favourites throughout the course of GTA Online's history.

There's a "massive" new adventure coming to Grand Theft Auto Online next week and it's teasing reaching new depths of Mount Chiliad and much, much more.
