Mayor of London to pay visit to Quaid's mausoleum today

Sadiq Khan arrived in his homeland Pakistan on Wednesday on his maiden tour since he assumed office previous year.

Addressing the media after his visit to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's mausoleum, Sadiq said, "I feel honoured to be in Karachi, I am thankful to Pakistan for its hospitality".

According to details, Sadiq Khan arrived in Karachi late last night after his visit to Lahore in the wake of tour of different cities in India. Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar had received him at the airport.

Sadiq Khan will also attend receptions hosted in his by Governor Sindh Zubair Ahmed and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.


He will leave for Britain this evening.

Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, who is now on a visit to Pakistan reached Karachi from Islamabad on Thursday night, Dunya News reported. He reached Lahore with his 16-member delegation through the Wagah Border.

Khan is scheduled to travel to Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi during his three-day visit to Pakistan.

He wrote: "From the beauty of India to the vibrancy of Pakistan - today I crossed the border on foot - becoming the first British politician to make this journey in recent history".
