Rajasthan: Cow smuggler killed in encounter with police in Alwar

A cow smuggler was killed in a police encounter in the wee hours in Alwar district of Rajasthan.

The smugglers were transporting 5 cows in a Tata 407 vehicle. The police officials informed that a police patrolling team tried to stop a vehicle in which a few people were seen carrying cows. "One of the smugglers was shot at in the retaliatory fire and later succumbed to his injuries", he said.

"But the smugglers broke the barriers placed by police and opened fired on the officers".


A man was killed by cow vigilantes last month while transporting cows in Rajasthan's Alwar. "We found 5 cows badly injured and are now being treated", Rahul Prakash, SP Alwar, told ANI.

The incident took place when the police got information of the smugglers from the locals.

Umar Khan was allegedly shot at and killed by cow vigilantes.
