She is also suing Flynn, who penned the screenplay for the film, and the director of the Oscar-nominated hit, David Fincher.

Reese Witherspoon got a lot of accolades for producing "Gone Girl", and now she's got a lawsuit. But now, in a turn of events, Reese has received a lawsuit for the same film.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Lesley Weller claims that she sent a copy of her screenplay - called Out of the Blue - to a script consultant in 2005, and that the book Gone Girl, which came out almost a decade later, was copped from her screenplay. She also says that the book Gone Girl, which was released in 2012 was a rip off of her script.

Weller cites multiple plot similarities, claiming both focus on a married couple's relationship where the husband and wife's relationship starts to crumble. She says the movie lifts from the book, which lifts from her screenplay. Even the structure, Weller says, is the same, drawing a few more parallels.

Leslie Weller has sued Witherspoon, along with Fincher and Flynn, claiming that she wrote a screenplay, titled "Out of the Blue" in 2005, which was stolen and later appeared as a novel and then as a movie, reported TMZ.
