Any love for the new Sony Xperia design? But even the Japanese conglomerate knows that it needs to keep up with the times, which is why we could see the company finally hop on the bezel-less bandwagon with two upcoming Xperia smartphones.

While most of the major tech giants this year kept with the bezel-less trend and launched phones with full-screen displays, Sony stuck to its guns and continued to bring out handsets with chunky bezels.

The renders that are present in this post are said to be based on designed drafts by Sony.

The other phone pictured is expected to be a lower-end one but still looks premium, so perhaps it's the Sony Xperia XZ2. All three offerings are equipped with dual-camera main setups, with two of them being situated in the top left corners of their rear panels, whereas the final design has a pair of sensors sandwiching what appears to be a dual-LED flash unit. On the back is a very unique looking curved matte and glossy surface, with the matte regions forming semicircles at the top and bottom. At the top, one can find LED flashed flanked between two oddly-placed rear cameras.

The leaked images were shared by GizChina and it shows both the smartphones will feature a bezel-less tall display, which sports an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone is expected to offer 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The renders of the other smartphone show that there could be rounded corners and a metal and glass design with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Last week, details emerged suggesting that Sony is working on a bezel-less smartphone to be unveiled this coming 2018, probably at the MWC event in February. There are no further information regarding specifications of the device. The interesting bit doesn't stop there as the it appears that Sony will finally ditch the side-mounted fingerprint scanner in favor of a rear-mounted sensor, something that could allow U.S. users to finally enjoy using this feature. Apparently, the Sony Xperia phone will measure just 149mm tall, which is almost the same size as the 5.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 that measures 148mm tall.
